The burpee is a full-body exercise used in strength training and as an aerobic exercise. If you are looking for a cardio exercise which you can do at home without any equipment, then this is the movement.
- Begin in a standing position.
- Move into a squat position with your hands on the ground.
- Kick your feet back into a plank position, while keeping your arms extended.
- Immediately return your feet into a squat position.
- Stand up from the squat position.
For Games athletes, the burpee is a staple. For seniors, it’s practicing a controlled descent to prone and the nearly as important return to standing. Burpee can be modified for anyone according to their ability to move. Check the below video where we have demonstrated multiple ways of scaling down this movement.
