The whole HYROX setup. Ninety minutes, every station reserved to you.
Every station in race order, booked to you for the full 90 minutes. Both SkiErgs, sleds and tanks, rowers, kettlebells, wall balls, marked lunge and burpee lanes, and the run route outside if the weather behaves. No queueing for a machine and no working in.
Book a block
Weekdays, six blocks a day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Book at least a day ahead so someone is there to let you in.
What is on the floor
All eight stations, in race order, already set up. Distances and loads below are the HYROX standard. Scale any of it however you need, nobody is checking.
- 1 SkiErg, 1,000m
Two machines, so a pair works side by side instead of taking turns.
- 2 Sled Push, 50m
Two units standing ready to push. Load them once at your weight and leave them set for the whole block.
- 3 Sled Pull, 50m
Two more already rigged to pull, so you never stop to change a sled over mid-sequence.
- 4 Burpee Broad Jump, 80m
A marked floor lane, so you are measuring the distance rather than pacing it out.
- 5 Row, 1,000m
Eight rowers. Take one each and nobody waits on a machine.
- 6 Farmers Carry, 200m
Kettlebell pairs at 53 lb and 35 lb, two pairs of each, so both athletes carry at the weight they actually race.
- 7 Lunges, 100m
Marked lane, with dumbbells at 35 lb and 25 lb standing in for the sandbag.
- 8 Wall Balls, 100 or 75
Eight wall ball spots along the wall.
Eight of them across a full simulation. There is a run route around the block outside, and eight assault bikes inside for when the weather is not having it. Your call on the day.
What people use it for
Lunchtime sim sessions
The midday blocks exist because nobody else offers them. Book 12:30, run a full simulation, be back at your desk. Eight minutes from Amazon.
Rainy-day race prep
Seattle does what Seattle does. Every station is indoors, so a wet forecast in the week before your race stops being a problem.
The real stations, in race order
Sled push and pull, SkiErg, row, wall balls, carries and lunges. Train the format on the equipment rather than approximating it.
Your space, your pace
No class clock and no crowd. Ninety minutes of exactly the work you planned, with room to reset between efforts.
Questions
What exactly do I get for 90 minutes?
The sim setup, booked to you. Both SkiErgs, the sleds and tanks, rowers, kettlebells, wall balls, and the marked lunge and burpee lanes, for the full 90 minutes. Nobody else is queueing for a station and you never work in. You can run the outdoor route or stay inside. The gym stays open for members training on their own thing, and at 7,000 sq ft that does not get in your way.
How much does it cost?
$35 for one athlete and $70 for two, booked together as one reservation. Persistence Athletics members book sim blocks free in the member app.
When can I book?
Weekdays, six 90-minute blocks a day: 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM. Book at least one day ahead so someone is there to let you in. We do not take same-day bookings.
Is a coach there?
No, and that is the point. This is the space and the equipment, not a class. You run your own session at your own pace with no class clock. If you want coaching, book a free first class or a personal training session instead.
I have never pushed a sled. Can I still book?
You can, but you will get more out of it if you have seen the stations once. A sim block is the room and the equipment, not instruction, so nobody is there to set your sled position or call your wall ball target. If those are new to you, start with a coached HYROX session, Wednesday 5:00 to 6:30 PM or Saturday 9:30 to 11:00 AM, both coached by Jacque, and your first class is free. Learn the stations there, then rent the floor and practise them on your own.
Do I need to be a member?
No. Anyone can book a sim block. You sign the waiver online while you book and pay by card. Members book free through the member app instead.
Can I do a full race simulation?
Yes. Every station is there in race order, and 90 minutes covers a full simulation with time to set up and reset. Plenty of people use it as rain-proof race prep in the weeks before a HYROX.
Never done a HYROX before?
Come to a coached session first. We run two a week, Wednesday 5:00 to 6:30 PM and Saturday 9:30 to 11:00 AM, and your first one is free.
